Appeal for Carrie!

CAN YOU HELP CARRIE?

Carrie came into our care on 25th August 2012 as her owner could no longer care for her and she was due to be dumped at the local pound, where she would have no doubt lost her life. However we were informed of Carrie’s situation just in time and managed to secure her a safe and secure foster home.

When Carrie arrived in foster it became clear that she had not been cared for properly, she was covered in lumps and bumps with matted fur and overgrown nails. Carrie was also very overweight due to lack of exercise. In addition to this Carrie was so upset and stressed but thanks to the dedication of her wonderful foster mum Carrie has now began to settle and enjoy tummy rubs! Sadly, when our vet examined Carrie it was discovered that she had a large mammary tumour. We are hoping to have this removed as soon as possible, along with a routine spay operation. However Carrie will also require blood tests and the tumour will need to be investigated further meaning her vet bill will run into hundreds of pounds!

Unfortunately as we are only a small and newly established rescue we are no doubt going to struggle to fund Carrie’s treatment and so we are appealing for urgent donations, no matter how small – every single penny helps!

If you can donate anything towards Carrie’s treatment please contact our vet as follows:

Please remember to say that you are donating towards Carrie’s bill via ‘The Dog Rescue’.
